MNC’s may gain a competitive advantage by continuously seeking to enhance and develop their products by drawing on its scattered knowledge base. This calls for sharing of knowledge between its different units. This paper identifies and discusses conditions and sources of resistance to knowledge sharing, and to propose that the development of social capital through networks may be a promising solution to overcome such resistance.
